Gili Islands
Experiences and Activities
Please speak to our reception staff for more information and advice. Before your holiday, you can also ask about these activities by emailing hello@belukarvillas.com
Scuba Diving
Diving the Gili Islands is a year-round activity. There are many reputable dive centers based on Gili Trawangan. Look out for those that are members of GIDA (Gili Islands Dive Association) for the most professional, safe and experienced services.
Our recommendations:

Horse Riding
Stud Horse Riding and Rescue STUD was established in 2004, originally to offer horse riding. Over the years, they have become a permanent home for many rescued ponies and also help with the welfare clinics for the island working ponies.
They have horses to suit all levels of rider including children. Half-hour, full hour and around the island rides are available. You can enjoy sunset or sunrise beach rides, photo shoots, pony walks, island tours or lessons. All funds raised go towards supporting the rescued animals.
The weight limit for riding is 75kg for the welfare of the horses.
Please contact them directly to book: +62 811 389 7779 and find them on social media @studhorseriding

Surfing
Off the southern end of the island you can find a right hand surf break called Bongkas. It breaks on a mid to high tide. The locals welcome travelling surfers. Lessons are also available.

Yoga
This has become very popular on Gili Trawangan. The highly experienced and professional centre, Sunset Beach Yoga, is only a 10 minute walk from Belukar. Sunset Beach Yoga runs both morning and evening classes for all levels of experience.
For more information please send a message via WhatsApp to +62 878 6212 5860 or visit their instagram page @sunset_beach_yoga

Snorkeling
If you want to see turtles and more, and you don’t fancy diving, there are daily glass bottom boat tours around the Gilis. If you would like to avoid the crowds we can help you charter your own private boat, allowing you to create your own exclusive experience and to suit your requirements and schedule.
Belukar’s guests receive a special offer for a private boat to go snorkeling and tour around the three Gili islands! Please ask our staff to arrange a booking.

Sunrise and Sunset
Whether you are an early bird and wake up to see the fabulous sunrise from behind Mount Rinjani on Lombok, or prefer to watch the sunset behind Mount Agung in Bali, you will not be disappointed. We’ve really struggled to chose our favourite photo!

Trekking Mount Rinjani
Not for the faint hearted! This is a demanding 2-4 day trek climbing the second highest volcano (3,726 metres) in Indonesia. Once at the summit climbers are rewarded with some of the most amazing views of the volcano and crater lake. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Gili Islands and beyond. One piece of advice, make sure you have a sturdy pair of shoes and several layers of warm clothing as the summit can be very cold!
There are several tour operators organising schedules to suit all levels of experience but if you need any advice please ask.

Cooking Classes
Learn how to make traditional Indonesian dishes using fresh, local produce. With a variety of menus suitable for all budgets, this is a wonderful way to spend an evening.

Kayaking and Paddle Boarding
Single and double kayaks and paddle boards are available for rent hourly or daily from Island Guide at the main beach. We recommend asking for information about currents as they can be quite strong around the island. Lessons are also available.
